This book was the result of a collaborative project jointly with Leominster Historical Society In the year 2000, to mark the turn of the millennium, the Society held a conference in Leominster on the history of the early church in Herefordshire.
The four distinguished speakers who gave the lectures at the conference were John Blair, John Harper, Joe Hillaby and Keith Ray, all experts in their fields (see illustration of the back cover).
The book also includes two other chapters, not given at the conference, but written afterwards. One is by Ann Malpas, on a Wheel of Life painting in Leominster Priory Church, with a coloured illustration by Arthur Davis, and the other a new translation and commentary by Hugh Pawsey on the Legend of St Edfrid of Leominster.
